I am a venture capital investor at Merak Capital in Riyadh, where I work across the Tech and Gaming funds. Before that I spent close to seven years at Bain & Company. I write about how both of those worlds actually operate, and I coach people trying to get into them.

At Merak I own the deal lifecycle end to end — sourcing across the GCC and global tech and gaming ecosystems, running commercial and competitive diligence, building the investment thesis and taking it to committee, then supporting terms and closing. After the wire, the work changes shape: I partner with founders on strategy, follow-on fundraising, hiring, and the partnerships that open commercial doors in the region. My coverage is Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and the wider GCC.

Before venture I was at Bain, most recently as a Senior Project Leader running deal and strategy work for private equity clients across healthcare, fintech, and retail and e-commerce, with teams of six to eight. Much of it was commercial due diligence on acquisition and exit decisions, alongside growth and go-to-market strategy across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Southeast Asia. Earlier in that stretch I built portfolio strategy for a sovereign wealth fund and screened targets across APAC and EMEA.

I am a CFA Charterholder with an MBA in finance and strategy from IIM Udaipur, including an exchange at EDHEC, and a B.Com from Hansraj College.

The coaching started at Board Infinity, where I worked with more than twenty IIM graduates on resumes and interview preparation. I kept doing it because the gap between a strong candidate and a successful one is usually small, specific, and fixable — and almost nobody tells them what it is. Having screened candidates from the hiring side and sat the same interviews myself, I can usually name it in one session.
